A worldwide mobilization

Following the disaster of Paris, many persons involved in sport mobilized themselves around the world. Everyone wanted to pay a tribute to France.

The first support came from Italy. A second division championship game started the match with a minute of silence followed by the national anthem of France. A player from the same league also pulled out a French flag after a goal he scored.

In the US, the NHL National Hockey League) has also set the colors of France. The rink of Montreal was blue, white and red. The process was the same with a minute of silence and the national anthem of France. England and London also participated in the tribute. We could see the colors of France on the arch of Wembley Stadium. The Tennis Masters which takes place within the O2 arena also observed a minute of silence and there are the french colours.

Other movements have occurred. For example, Toulouse rugby players who were playing an European Cup match against Saracens in England have called for there to be the French national anthem that is played before the game.In the USA, there was also a minute of silence and the French national anthem in Los Angeles before a NBA game.

Finally, many others cities around the world (Sydney, Mexico City, Berlin ...) also posted the colors blue, white and red on important monuments.

The whole world has mobilized to acts that should not exist. A big thought for all the victims of this tragedy against humanity.

    1. I think it is difficult to avoid these tragedies. This is not the first time that there are these things in Europe.I think that countries must join forces to fight together.

  2. Good documentation of the worldwide support for France (including the Opera House in Sydney, where I am). Good to see in one post.

    1. I think it is important to see that the world has mobilized not only the nearby country of France.
